I'm finally getting around to posting some pictures of things we've been up to lately. When I say lately, I mean pictures from July until now! Sad, huh?!
I promised pictures from the big wedding at the end of July...better late than never. Long story short, my brother-in-law and finance had planned a wedding in Destin, Florida...then the oil spill happenend. Sadly the beach wedding was cancelled a month out so I volunteered to be their wedding coordinator. Crazy I know! I have this odd love of organizing, to do lists, and strange things like that so it was right up my alley. I did the decorating of the ceremony and oversaw the lining up and processional of the bridal party. For a wedding that was thrown together in a month, I thought it turned out wonderfully with only a few small kinks...
The venue...
The beautiful fam...
The lovely couple...
The flower girl that never was...(Yes, she wore the dress, did rehearsal, and took all the pictures. No, she wouldn't go down the aisle! Oh well, she was still beautiful!)
Fast forward a month...Phil's family had a family reunion at a state park a few hours away. We went up the night before and stayed in a hotel with family, mostly so Riley could swim in the indoor pool. Woooh, was that an adventure! I have never felt pool water SOOO cold. It was miserable but Aunt Sarah, Riley, and I were troopers and bound and determined we would swim so we toughed it out!
Normally this family reunion is in September or later so we've gotten some good fall pictures in the past but this year it was blazing hot. On top of that Phil didn't feel good at all so we didn't get to enjoy it much.
Don't know where this picture came from...just thought it was cute!
My two little princesses...story behind the dress-IT USE TO BE MINE! My mom loved dressing me in frills so Riley's latched onto for dress-up. That's the only time I ever plan on having her in frills!
On Labor Day weekend, one of my cousins had the great idea of having a get together at my mamaw's. I won't get into all the details but my mamaw has been in poor health for five or more years and has to be cared for round the clock. She's been in nursing homes but none of them seem to pan out so she's now back at her 100+ acre farm and old farmhouse with people staying with her. I have made some of my greatest memories at Mamaw's house and sadly the family has had to sell the farm thus this get-together to think back on all our times spent here.
It was neat to see our children playing around this giant oak tree in the front yard where we played many a game and climbed.
One of my favorite parts of Mamaw's house...the front porch. So many memories of swinging, singing, and just watching the cars drive by.
A saint in my eyes and so many others...she's so tired and ready to go "home" but she will be sorely missed when she is gone...
This past weekend we were blessed with free tickets to a UK football game. We went with some of our best buds and had a blast. I obviously need to get out more because the whole stadium did the wave and everytime it came to our section I would stand up to do it then giggle like a little girl! Best part of the game though...we won!
Well I think I've fit as much into one post as possible. Will try to get back with the program of blogging...
