Fall fun

We've been enjoying the cool temperatures and the beauty of the outdoors...

Riley learning the ropes of softball from her uncles.

Josie just taking it all in and waiting for her turn up to bat.

One of the fun parts of fall...high school football. The staff at Phil's school had a tailgate party before a home football game. Good food and Riley had a blast playing with other kiddos.

Josie learning the rules of the game.

Now this is an amusing story but I'll spare you all my whiney details. Long story short, we went to an apple fest that turned out to be a joke and visited a pumpkin patch on the coldest, rainiest day we've had. We wanted to take the girls on a hayride to pick a pumpkin out of a patch but due to the horrible weather we ended up picking one off a wagon...fun, fun. Oh well, still made memories!

The trees were much more vibrant here than at home.

We plan to have a fall themed night this week where we carve our pumpkin, (not necessarily for Halloween since we don't really celebrate it, more for cute fall decoration), bake the seeds and a pie, and make caramel apples. We'll see how it goes...
