At the end of our camping trip we told Riley we were taking her to get a "surprise." Just the word surprise got her excited so you should have seen her when she finally got it. Can you guess what her surprise was?
Not just one kitten, but two! We're suckers for animals and we figure you can't just have one, it might get lonely! They are inside for now but we plan to turn them into barn cats eventually to keep the mice away. Riley and her daddy named them Cookie (white with brown spots...you know, like a chocolate chip cookie) and Coal (bet you can't guess which one is Coal!) It has definitely been a teachable situation with Riley...she wants to chase after them and hold them constantly. She's used to dogs that want to play with you all the time whereas cats can be loners and have to warm up to you. So she's having to learn patience and she's really getting so much better. We're also working on responsibility by having her help with the feeding and cleaning out the litter box. We'll keep you posted on the progress!

Lucky! I wish I had two fluffy kittens. They're so cute. So is your blog header, by the way. I love your little polka dot girls - and they coordinate perfectly with your necklace. Sweet family!
Love your new little kittens. They are so cute. I bet they will get used to Riley in no time. Our cat is accustomed to Adam chasing her all over the house and carrying her around.
