Crossing Festival

Today we braved the cold temperatures to go to our local favorite festival. It draws HUGE crowds although the crowd seemed some smaller today, I'm sure due to the cold weather. We went to the parade first but honestly it was a big disappointment. It only lasted 25 minutes and was literally nothing much more than old cars and tractors. Don't get me wrong I like both of those but I miss the days of floats filling parades.

After the parade we ventured through the crowds to make an all important decision...what would we eat? Nothing sounded real great, which I'm sure has to do with the fact that I'm pregnant, so I just settled for a burger while Riley wolfed down a whole hot dog! Then off to Phil's favorite part of the festival, craft booths. And I don't just mean a few...booths upon booths upon booths. I rarely buy anything at the booths but since Riley's come along I am of course drawn to the ones with hairbows and little girl stuff. I did end up buying a big hairbow and this adorable beanie cap. I have to confess I really only bought them so I could master the art of making more myself! Maybe some day I'll set up a booth...we'll see!
It was a very enjoyable day, other than the frigid temps. We always enjoy seeing tons of people we know and the festival kind of serves as a fall kick-off for us.

Love the hat! Did you buy it from Amber?
I'm so bummed I didn't get to go this year...maybe next year.

NO. I didn't know she was selling them and I got to this booth first. Once I got to hers I saw she was and she was $6 cheaper! I was sick!!! Anyway, had to have one as an example so I can make my own now!
