Party till the sun goes down!

Riley had a wonderful 2nd birthday party last night. Phil and G-g-papaw worked literally up until the party to get the swingset done and it turned out awesome!

Before the party started I had to get Riley decked out in her special birthday dress that Mamaw and I made for her. I should say Mamaw made and I assisted with! That's a whole other story...

For supper, we ate "hot dogs" in honor of the Mickey Mouse theme and hamburgers with plenty of other goodies. Then it was time for cake. I decided I wanted to make a homemade Mickey cake...don't know if I'll attempt that again! I'm just not blessed with the baking and icing abilities that my mother has. It did at least resemble Mickey and I thought it tasted fine! Riley seemed to like it, especially the icing!

Then it was present time! Riley was so cute opening everything saying, "WOW" and thanking each person for their gift. We saved the best for last...the swingset! Everybody went outside and we made sure the cameras were ready. As I brought her out her face lit up and then came a big, "WOW!" She took off running so hard that she tripped and fell face first in the dirt. Poor thing! She wimpered a bit while I dusted her off but it didn't take long for her to regain her focus. Up the steps and down the slide she went first! A fast slide at that! Then she stayed glued in the swing for much of the night. I think she LOVED her present! Thanks again Daddy and G-g-papaw for all the hard work.

Everybody hung around till the sun was past gone and Riley had a blast. Not to mention so did we. We are so blessed to have family that we love to be with and that are so great with Riley. Love you all!

Riley was so worn out from all the fun that she went to sleep in a snap. Phil and I took a short walk down memory lane of two years ago on that very night when we were so expectant of our little angel. She has blessed our lives with such joy and happiness that nothing in the world could replace. HAPPY BIRTHDAY RILEY! Mommy and Daddy love you!
