Happy Belated Thanksgiving!

Happy BELATED Thanksgiving! Riley finished her turkey with the many things that she is thankful for. On Thanksgiving morning we read back over everything and talked about how blessed we are. We enjoyed wonderful food and time with family as well as time reflecting back on the many blessings God had granted us.

Before we move on to the Christmas preparations I had to share a dear story. Riley and her daddy rode up to the local IGA to get milk a few nights ago. Apparently on the way Riley was full of her usual questions, that night's topic being, "Daddy, how do you get to..." Phil was caught off guard when she asked, "Daddy, how do you get to Heaven?" I'm sure tears were involved as Phil explained to her in a way that she could understand...we believe in Jesus and ask him to help us obey our parents and Him. When we do something wrong we have to ask him for forgiveness. Then he led her in a prayer. Once they got back home, Riley ran in showing me her purchase from IGA...Lifesavers. Pretty neat idea Daddy! What a proud moment for these blessed parents!

It's pretty much been a tradition for us to do our Christmas decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving. So on Saturday we spent ALL day decorating. I felt so productive and it really got me in the Christmas mood. Not sure how much Phil enjoyed putting up multiple trees but I LOVED it!
Here's Riley's Mickey tree...

Our old-fashioned tree with all the memorable ornaments people have given us over the year...

And our "fancy" tree, if that's what you want to call it.

Of course we had to wrap a few presents...my favorite is the one in pink.

As soon as Josie gets in the floor, it is her number one goal to get to that tree! It's hard to tell her "no" when it's so cute seeing her inchworm across the floor, reach up for an ornament, and turn and grin at my response!
