Snow days...

We've been enjoying some wonderful snow days this week so I've been a bit preoccupied to post. Plus my computer decided to quit this week (after just having it repaired a few months back) so I've had to steal my husband's laptop!

This winter has brought us quite a few snows, just none too substantial. With the most recent snow, forecasters kept tempting us with 2-4 inches and even 3-6 inches. Yeah right! We maybe got 2 inches which is still enough to get Phil out of school but I would like one BIG snow and then be done with it!

Anyway, on one of our snow days we spent much of the day with our closest friends and their wonderful kiddos at their Mamma's house. The daddies took the older ones outside to sled while us mommies stayed inside with the little ones. We had a great time of fellowship by a warm, cozy fireplace while they braved the chilly temps!

Riley is pretty fearless when it comes to most things outdoors, especially sledding. There were plenty of great sledding hills of various sizes. She of course wanted to try the longest hill...

What a sweet Daddy...instead of making her drag her own sled all the way back to the top, he did it for her.

Here's "Big Joe" (as Riley calls him) pushing Bethany for a go...

Josie enjoyed showing off her standing skills in the warmth of the indoors! (Don't you love those CHUNKY legs!!)

Poor thing...Daddy stuck a suction cup dart to her head for a pose.

Once the kiddos finally gave out, they enjoyed hot chocolate and 'Randa fixed us some delicious soup. We spent the rest of the day playing Rook (we won't discuss who won...) and the kids got into everything they could! We had a blast! "Randa & Mamma were a wonderful hostesses!

Yesterday I spotted this red cardinal perched amongst the snow and thought it was a beautiful site...about the only time I like a Cardinal! (We're big UK fans and DON'T like the Cardinals...Riley actually calls them the big red chickens!)

And this was my favorite site of the day...isn't she precious?

God is so good to have blessed me with such a wonderful husband, children, family, and friends. My cup runneth over!
